The best automation projects are rarely glamorous. They remove the copy and paste between systems that quietly eats your week.

Find the copy and paste Ask each team where they move information by hand from one system to another. Invoices into accounting, leads into the CRM, orders into the warehouse sheet. That list is your automation backlog.

Rank by pain, not by excitement Score each item on hours lost per week and on the cost of a mistake. A task that takes two hours a week but causes a billing error once a month is often the best first target.

Build it to be watched Every workflow we ship has logging, alerts when something fails, and a plain language dashboard. Automation that fails silently is worse than no automation.

Keep a person in the loop where it counts Approvals for payments, refunds and anything customer facing stay with people. The workflow prepares the work; a person presses the button.

Review after thirty days Look at what broke, what was skipped and what people still do by hand. The second iteration is where most of the value shows up.
