Distance is not the problem in outsourced software. Unclear overlap is. Here is how we structure the working day.

Overlap beats proximity A team in the same city that you only speak to weekly is further away than a team several hours ahead that you see every morning. What matters is a dependable window of shared hours.

How we cover the US, Europe and Asia Our working day is planned around our clients, not our clock. We keep a daily overlap window with US mornings, the full European working day and the Asian afternoon. Most clients get live answers every day without anyone working at midnight.

Write things down Decisions, demos and blockers go into a shared log every day. If you miss a call, you lose nothing.

Demo, do not report Status reports describe work. Demos show it. We prefer a short recorded walkthrough of real software over a slide.

Agree on the handoff Before a project starts, agree who answers questions when, and how quickly. A clear expectation removes most of the friction people associate with remote teams.
